Ana’s
Playground
The short film Ana’s Playground is an allegory about the moment a child is forced to choose between ideology and humanity while living and playing in a dangerous war environment. Ana’s Playground avoids political or regional stereotypes due to its use of ambigious ethnicity and minimal dialogue in a fictional launguage. Its focus is on the effects of war on children, rather than on the political or racial differences in a particular conflict. Our challenge was to art direct an environment that looked like it could be located anywhere in the world and had influences from a wide variety of cultures. The result was an award-winning canvas and marketing campaign for an Oscar short-listed film that aims to make an impact for the 300,000+ children that currently are fighting in active combat. The graffiti wall was so well received, it is a permanent installation in the atrium of Minneapolis post house Splice.
